Materials
Size 15US straight needles
Super Bulky Yarn (Less than half a skein)
Darning needles for sewing in ends.
Pattern
Cast on 10 stitches using whatever cast on method you like. I used the continental method.
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Purl
Repeat these two rows until piece measures 12 inches.
Bind off
Fold knitted piece end to end to create a circle and sew ends together. Tie a piece of yarn around the center of the circle to create a bow.
Next you need to knit the middle piece that covers the yarn that you tied to the center.
Cast on 4 stitches.
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Purl
Repeat these two rows until long enough to snugly cover the center of your bow. Must fit snugly or else it will slip off of the bow.
Bind off.
Wrap this piece around the center of the bow, sew ends together and tack into place with a few small stitches.
Weave in all ends. You can add the bow to a headband by slipping the headband under and through the center loop or add a clip to secure the bow to your hair. It can also be used on purses...whatever you'd like!
Enjoy!
I like this - my girl always wants to be Hello Kitty too - it's the bow she loves.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I have three daughters and they all want one now that I made one for halloween. LOL Thanks for the post!
ReplyDeleteomg i was going to buy hello kitty ears at Hot Topic but then i found this! GAH amazingggggg <3 lol im 13 and im knitting... im a normal child hahahahahah lol anyways i loveeee the pattern1 SUPER easy! im using purple sparkly yarn!
ReplyDeleteShould I stuff it with fiberfill? I'm trying to decide, and I don't know whether to or not, because the instructions don't mention it, but it would give the bow a plushy feel....
